Looking good is important to many women, regardless of their age. For those 50 and over, finding flattering styles can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. The Style Equation is here for you to give you online personal styling advice tailored specifically for our demographic. Here are a few tips to help you look your best in camisoles and other key pieces in your closet.

How to Choose The Camisole Color

Wearing a cami as a layering piece is a great way to add a bit of interest to your outfit. In its supporting role, it will provide coverage under a sheer top.

A dark solid color cami can be worn under a dark sheer top or blouse so that the cami itself is not seen. It will provide a backdrop or lining for the top so that you don’t have any skin showing.

In contrast, if you are wearing a white or light-colored top, you will want to avoid a white cami. When choosing a cami for a light-colored top, choose a skin tone color, not nude to best compliment your outfit. If you have a darker complexion, go for a dark cami so that the cami disappears.

Your Personal Styling Online Pro Tip

Consider the transition when you are wearing a lighter top and darker bottom, or vice versa. Your goal is to create a column of color in order to avoid a line across the middle of your body.  This will elongate your look and create a slimming effect.

Whether you’re layering or not, make sure that your cami fits well. It should be snug but not too tight. If it’s too loose, it will add bulk to your look. SHOP MY FAVORITE V-NECK CAMI
